This project celebrates timber as both structure and soul, embracing the natural imperfections that make each piece of wood uniquely beautiful. Warm cedar siding wraps the exterior, weathering gracefully over time to a soft silver-gray that blends into the surrounding landscape. Inside, exposed beams and wide-plank floors create a tactile warmth that invites touch and connection. Stone foundations and hearths anchor the composition, grounding the lightness of wood with the permanence of earth. The result is a home that feels born from its site—not imposed upon it—where natural materials speak for themselves in quiet harmony.
Craftsmanship rooted in natural materials
Every surface in this home is chosen for its honesty and authenticity. The cedar planks are left unfinished, allowing weather and time to leave their mark. Stone walls are dry-stacked in the traditional manner, celebrating the hand of the craftsman. Warm walnut appears in custom millwork and built-in shelving, offering moments of richness against the softer fir and pine.
